The Outlook
When on your way from Fira to Oia (or the other way round) you're walking atop Santorini's caldera around 150m above the sea level. Best go there in the afternoon, since the sun will start to reflect on gazillions of tiny waves, giving spectacular effects! They are difficult to capture, especially when the sky is a little hazy, but it definitely is worth spending a few shots for getting the best exposure!
Yes, the sky *was* hazy! For post-processing I pulled three exposures from the same RAW file (one for the rocks, one for the sea in the lower part of the image and one for the upper third) and blended them manually into a single layer. It took around one hour for tweaking curves in order to give a more natural look than the direct result of the blending. Afterwards I applied some more saturation and minor exposure correction along with an over-sharpening of the sea (for getting all those tiny waves back)...
