Grand Canyon - Navajo Point
The Grand Canyon and Colorado River as seen from the Desert View Watchtower at Navajo Point, right at the eastern end of the south rim. Terrific sky, tremendous view, I could have stayed there for hours!
I hadn't much in mind when taking this picture, especially not because it was shot through a plastic window full of scratches and dirt. After having played with it for a few seconds in UFraw, I was overwhelmed by the colors and detail that showed up! I generated 3 different exposures of the single RAW file and merged them using different masks in Gimp. The result belongs to what I would call one of my "Top-10 Shots" I ever took!
