Santorini -- Oia

When going to Santorini one can't get away from the island without having taken this exact shot. It is featured on many post-cards, showing what Oia is so famous for: White chapels with blue domes, along with the deep blue sea and the island's incredible caldera in the background. Although the place is a little tricky to find, once you're there, you'll find a waiting line and you have to be patient until its your turn. And since always people will be behind you, you have to be quick with your shots...

Most of the work was done on the background, since it turned out too dark and lacking contrasts. Because of all that sunlight on these white surfaces, I totally goofed and heavily underexposed this shot, so it got somewhat noisy during post-processing.

Tagged Image Browsing

Browse the images on this site by clicking on one or more tags. When clicked, a tag becomes active (or inactive). Active tags will restrict the thumbnails on the bottom of this popup to images that have all of the currently active tags assigned. A tag that is assigned to the image currently visible is shown with a  blue background . Tags will be grayed out if none of the currently selected images have that tag assigned. Tags with a serif font designate an image gallery, i.e. images that are related to each other because they were e.g. taken during the same trip.
