Skyline again...

Here comes another shot (the last one, I guess) from Hong Kong Island's skyline. As all other skyline shots, this one was taked on the Avenue of Stars and is, thus, framed by some of the avenue's "features" in the foreground...

Facades of Hong Kong - Part II

I didn't expect to find so many images from Hong Kong, that I consider good enough to be shown here. So, although this series initially was planned to be rather short, there'll be some more shots following in the next days...

Anyway, after yesterday's crazy image, back to something more quiet today: Another facade high above the streets' chaos...

Prepare to get blinded...

... because today's image will confront you with what you *REALLY* see and feel when walking on Hong Kong's streets!

I wonder whether the overally impression would get any better if I actually would understand all those signs and writings...

Facades of Hong Kong - Part I

This is the first "day shot" from Hong Kong that I'm posting... It shows what you see when walking through Hong Kong and raising your eyes 10m above the streets' chaos...

No space left on device...

... this is what the Gimp told me yesterday morning while editing some more images from Hong Kong. Indeed, my hard drive got quite full in the past years... Another point is that, by starting this blog, I forced myself to keep unflattened, full resolution XCF files of the images I would post here. Since the latter often contain 10+ layers, the files quickly can be 200MB or more. Well, this was a good reason for getting myself one of those external 1TB USB hard drives (*).

Anyway: After the short intermezzo from Karlsruhe last time, I'll be posting some more images from Hong Kong and Kowloon in the next days. Today's image is another night shot, and it shows a typical crossing on Kowloon's Nathan Road...

(*) Technical stuff: I didn't encounter any problems getting the external hard drive to work under Linux, although the decision of a filesystem wasn't straight forward. The pre-installed ntfs didn't last for more than five minutes, and, despite losing windows compatibility, was replaced by EXT3. Since the latter however turned out to require about 70GB (!) of disc space for organizing its data, I ended up at using ReiserFS again...
