Self Portrait
Two weeks ago I bought myself a nice white polo neck sweater. Right when leaving the shop I knew that, one day, I would have to shoot a self portrait wearing that sweater. Today was the day! Initially I only wanted to replace my Facebook profile picture but since the image turned out ways better than I expected I just thought of posting this here. While lighting was achieved with an "IKEA orgel lamp" only (standing about 80cm away from me), the background is the matte display of my 47" TV screen — never thought I could use this as a backdrop!

Despite having a portrait image, I applied most of my standard post-processing techniques, but in a much more subtle way. Local contrast enhancements were used to some extent in order to bring more details on the skin. I darkened the background although I was already pretty happy with it: The TV's display reflected parts of the living room, but because of its matte surface the reflection was very blurry and contained just the "right" amount of structure for giving a great backdrop!

Offener Blick, Mischung aus Lächelm und Ernsthaftigkeit - sehr schön! Die zwei Finger etwas gekünstelt.
