The Colourful Wall - Detail II

This is another detail I found on the colourful wall. A pitty I didn't take a tripod (lazy me) on that afternoon, since this way I could have closed the aperture to f8 in order to get a deeper field and the best performance out of the lens. Instead, I should consider myself lucky, since I managed to get a sharp hand-held picture despite the pretty risky exposure time and focal length!

The Colourful Wall - Detail I

I was so overwhelmed by the colourful wall that, in the first place, I didn't dare to ban it into one single image. Instead, I first started to look for smaller details: My eyes caught a few of them (still needing lots of practicing here!), so here you go with the first one!

I hope...

... people don't get tired from this small autumn series (which already got ways longer than expected). But, well, I not only enjoyed taking all those pictures: Indeed, post processing was real fun for each image. And I also must admit that my retouching and editing style has shown quite some evolution within the past weeks and month — For comparison, just have a look at the first pictures from Sicily I've been posting on this blog!

Anyway, today comes another shot from the campus of the former University of Karlsruhe. I start feeling stupid writing "former" again and again — But it somehow still feels weird saying KIT!

Autumn Shot++

Another of the subjects I captured on October 25th 2009 afternoon, which more and more turns out to be my most successfull "photographic Sunday" so far.

The colouring of this image will give you a better impression of the temperatures I had to endure with my bad throat — Anyway, it was worth the effort!

Closing in...

This image was the main purpose of my small photographic afternoon on October 25th: A few days before, I had seen this colorful facade while getting back from the canteen to my office.

I quickly decided to have some shooting the next weekend before those colours would be gone... I stayed about an hour around this place, since there were so many subjects to shoot. In the end, I went home with about 30 exposures — most of them being keepers, yay!

This being said, I must admit I'm not 100% happy with today's image, since those crazy colours seem pretty aggressive and they lack the quietness I've experienced around this place. However, I didn't want to reduce the image's saturation, since the overall impression would have been lost.

By the way: The image I posted two days ago is a detail of the top leaves of the bush on the right side... Just to give you an idea how that image's background really looks like.
