Breakfast
Yesterday morning I noticed how incredibly balanced my breakfast is — at least in terms of colours. As my coffee was getting cold I only managed to get a quick shot of the scene, which still was good enough for being posted on Facebook. However, I wanted to make more out of this subject: This morning I started with some experiments in lighting and setting up the picture (using empty dishes only). Having found some setup I was more or less happy with, I started preparing the breakfast and eventually I ended up with this image. Its still not perfect, but perpetually rearranging the food without being able to eat some of it was out of the question, as I was getting hungry!

I think this is my second attempt at doing something like "product photography" (I consider this image as my first try), so post processing is a little more subtle here. First, this image is composed of two exposures with different apertures values for getting a better background blur. After combining the images, I locally enhanced contrasts in order to get the image (and especially the bread) look more crispy. Last but not least, I added some slight vignetting effects in the corners while increasing the exposure value in image's center. See the unedited image for getting an idea how the original looks like.
